He isn't trying to be submissive, it's just a bit of his animal side instinctively coming out and when she pats the spot next to her he scoots up, throwing an arm around her shoulders.
"I mean I kind of want to because you've got dynamite legs but I also want to kiss you so...." He says with a grin and leans in to nuzzle her neck a little.
